Film still: In Harmony
"The human and equine stars are magnetic"
  —The Guardian
"Thanks to a taut script and two stunning, nuanced performances, this is a tense, unconventional love story. [Albert] Dupontel excels in a fearless, physical role, whereas [Cécile] De France demonstrates the power of dramatic restraint"

Marc (Albert Dupontel) is an equestrian stuntman and after a serious accident which traumatically injures him, he loses all hope of ever getting back on a horse. Florence (Cécile De France) works for an insurance company and is in charge of Marc's case. Although they have nothing in common, Marc and Florence's brief interaction will impact them in more ways than they can imagine. A simple insurance settlement seems distant as Marc's stubborn dignity draws Florence to him, and an unlikely love affair blossoms. As both realize how their lives have strayed, they reassess what truly matters.

In Harmony is a poignant and inspiring story about the passion of a man for his horse, and his nearly impossible return to happiness after a dramatic fall. Set in the breathtaking landscape of Brittany and featuring impeccable acting throughout, the film is a vibrant life lesson. The versatile and brilliant Dercourt moves on from the dark style that saw his earlier films such as The Page Turner as he embraces a courageous and emotionally powerful melodrama. In Harmony was based on equestrian trainer Bernard Sachsé's memoir, On My Four Legs, and won an award for Best Film at the Brussels Film Festival.

Directed by Denis Dercourt, 2014, France, 90 mins. In French with English subtitles.
