Kai (Gael García Bernal, No, Motorcycle Diaries) is an enigmatic young man, bearing indigenous tattoos, who lives in the Argentinian rain forest. One day he witnesses an attack by mercenaries on a tobacco farm who kill the owner and kidnap his daughter, Vania, (Alice Braga, I Am Legend, City of God). Seeking justice, Kai embarks on a manhunt to avenge the family.

Far from the dusty plains of the American Wild West, filmmaker Pablo Fendrik (Blood Appears, The Mugger) makes nature a major protagonist. and fundamentally rethinks the genre by setting his "machete western" in the Amazonian jungle. Ardor is a suspense-filled story of the struggle between man and nature.

Directed by Pablo Fendrik, 2014, Argentina/Mexico/Brazil/France/U.S.A., 101 min. In Spanish and English with English subtitles.
