Filmmaker Daniel Peddle in person!
"Visually poetic... Filled with gorgeous imagery shot entirely by natural light, the film casts an at times hypnotic spell"
"The film...sets a hauntingly evocative stage with its images of rot and decay...and a naturalistic soundtrack that heightens the Southern Gothic feel"
Los Angeles Times
"A reflective and visually compelling narrative"
"Director Daniel Peddle gets great performances from his non-professional cast and expertly builds a taut and disturbing atmosphere"
NY Daily News
"Aggressively lyrical and contemplative"
Two narratives clash violently in this meditative portrayal of disaffected youth set in a necropolis of abandoned mobile homes known as Sunset Edge. We follow a group of four aimless, suburban teenagers as they skateboard the park, sleep in the sun, and rummage through the decaying remains completely unaware that this is where a lonesome teen is confronting a horrific past.
Part gothic thriller, part coming-of-age tale, filmmaker Daniel Peddle's narrative feature film debut is a Hitchcockian mash-up that upends teenage horror films as the thrill-seeking kids get lost in the remnants and shadows of this long-forgotten place. Day turns to night, people disappear, and the secrets of Sunset Edge are revealed in this mesmerizing Southern Gothic tale which is also a poignant snapshot of American culture.
