Argentine wunderkind director Lisandro Alonso paints a meditative portrait of a man re-emerging into society after serving a 20-year prison sentence for (seemingly) murdering two children. Abandoning clothing, money and modern conveniences, he begins a quiet journey through the jungle to find his lost daughter. The expanse of the jungle engulfs the man, whose simple quest transforms into a metaphysical journey filled with hidden secrets and unanswered questions from a dark past.
