Facets is a nationally-recognized conservator, publisher and distributor of films on DVD and VHS. Films lost and neglected over time-everything from independent and art-house favorites, classic masterpieces and powerful documentaries to silent pioneers, experimental wonders and children's features-have been rescued from obscurity and made available to the world for home viewing, with over 800 films digitally restored and released since the late 1980s.

Important works by seminal filmmakers are our passion. CARLITO'S MEDELLIN

A harrowing account of life on some of the world's most dangerous streets, this hard-hitting documentary follows thirteen-year-old Carlito as he shows his decimated neighborhood to filmmaker Jean-Stephane Sauvaire. LOUISE BOURGEOIS

Sculptor Louise Bourgeois lifts the veil on her life and work in this revealing portrait of a modern artist. Focusing on themes of sexuality, femininity, and isolation, her work has been associated with all the major artistic movements of the 20th century, but Bourgeois never let her work get stalled by the tenets and dogma of any one movement. In a career that spanned 50 years, she was always at the vanguard, moving from painting to sculpture and finally to performance art. In French, German, & English with optional English subtitles.

SULLIVAN'S BANKS
Directed by Heinz Emigholz, 2001
During the twilight of his career, legendary Chicago architect Louis Sullivan -- called the "Father of Modernism" -- constructed the eight banks that are showcased in this unique documentary. Collectively referred to as Sullivan's Jewel Boxes, these banks are located in ordinary small towns across America's heartland. All appear solid, like cathedrals of capitalism, yet they are also discreetly ornate, which makes them stand out among their flat, Midwestern surroundings.
