Three vintage examples of news and propaganda broadcasts from the early years of television. John Cameron Swayze and David Brinkley present the news of the world in two fifteen-minute editions of The Plymouth News Caravan (4/18/55 and 4/20/55), complete with their original commercials. You Can Change the World is a 1951 anti-Communist piece (also shown theatrically) in which a priest gathers together a group of celebrities to discuss how neighbors helping neighbors can stop the spread of the "Red Menace." Jack Benny, Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, William Holden, Ann Blythe and Loretta Young make appearances. Lastly, First Lady Jackie Kennedy is the host for The White House Story, a brief tour and history of the presidential mansion. JFK himself appears briefly in this 1961 program. 110 mins.
