BREAKING THE GIRLS
Two shows only!
"Kinky titillation and compassion are at odds in so many movies; [Jamie] Babbitt has a gift for making them sing in harmony" RogerEbert.com
Sara (Agnes Bruckner) is a smart but poor law school student, who has just lost her job and college scholarship. When she meets Alex (Madeline Zima)an enigmatic and privileged young womanat a bar one night, an intense relationship immediately forms between them, which quickly goes to a dark place. Each of the girls discovers an urge to rid themselves of a special enemy and their furtive plotting and sexual connection quickly escalates to a tangled web of violence and lies, in which Sara finds she is being framed for murder.
Breaking the Girls is a lipstick-lesbian riff on Strangers on a Train with a neo-noir mix of sex and blackmail.
