The Movieside Film Festival and Director Rusty Nails are coming to the next IFP/Chicago Facets Film Series. The shorts will include:
Algren's Last Night, a short film homage to one of Chicago's greatest writers...Nelson Algren. Directed by Carmine Cervi and Warren Leming.
Peluca, the short that would later be expanded into Napoleon Dynamite, by Jared Hess with actor Jon Heder. This is hilarious!
My Mother's Daughter, an abstract portrait and personal examination of a young woman.
Cushion, a trailer trash not-so-love story. This film was part of the Slamdance 2005 program. Directed by Alexander Rojas.
Pretty Things. Michael Lucid is one of the funniest people ever to use a video camera. Another Slamdance 2005 participant.
Das Neue Monster. A lonely woman Frankenstein awakens to a new life with a sense of confusion and awe. Directed by Kate McCabe.
Monkey Walken. Christoper Walken's monkey doppelganger shares his "tales" of woe and awe. Directed by Jason Woliner & James Dean Conklin.
The Movieside Film Festival is the largest short film festival in the world and finds its home in Chicago. In the past four years Movieside has screened over 400 short films by film makers from all over the world including works by David Cronenberg, Christine Hart, Guy Maddin, Sarina Khan Rheddy, Doug Lussenhopp, Kirsten Stoltmann, David Lynch, Bridget Farr, Nathan Pommer and many many more. The festival has been hosted by independent film mavericks such as John Waters, Jim Jarmusch and George A. Romero.
