Stuck in a rut of haircuts, hot dogs, and horse books, a small time barber Art Leroldi, (John Ratzenberger of
Cheers,
Toy Story and
Ratatouille) lives every day like a disappointment. However, with the unexpected death of his long time partner and last apparent friend, he faces losing the only thing in his life that has any meaning, his barbershop. In order to keep it, he is forced to hire the last person on earth he would ever imagine working there, a spitfire young girl Gloria (Shelly Cole of
Gilmore Girls) who suddenly finds herself unable to take no for an answer. This is the bittersweet story of a man who has lost his way in life and of a woman trying to find hers — revealing how two unlikely people can find a second chance in the most unlikely of places.
