Set in the mid-1980's within the depths of Bombay's B-movie industry, Miss Lovely follows the mutually destructive relationship of two brothers, filmmakers Sonu (Anil George) and Vicky Duggal (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) in a sordid tale of betrayal and doomed love. They produce cheap, illegal movies that mix horror with soft-core porn, and while Vicky enjoys his job (he exploits the wannabe actresses), Sonu is frustrated, believing that he can do anything (steal, forge, manipulate) to make it on his own as a "romantic film director". He finally gets his chance when he meets Pinky (Niharika Singh), a girl who is desperately looking for a break in film industry, and after a few dates, they fall in love. Sonu promises Pinky that he will be making a film of his own, "Miss Lovely", where she will be the star. However, Sonu does not know that Pinky is not as innocent as she seems, a disclosure which will have dangerous consequences.
Described as Mean Streets meets Boogie Nights, Miss Lovely is a raw drama, which boldly dives into the lower depths of the Bollywood underground.
