A SNEAK PREVIEW OF A FACETS EXCLUSIVE!
AMERICAN REVOLUTION 2
"
American Revolution 2 differs not in its searing immediacy...but in its willingness to push involvement to such an extent that ultimately form follows function and the babble of voices and the progression of spokesmen (most of them carefully not identified) begin on their own terms to move out of chaotic communication and into hermetic style."
-New York Times

"The result is a film every Chicagoan should see. But that's a cliché. What I want to say is: If you were disturbed by what happened last August [1969] and if you wondered, however vaguely, how such a cataclysmic week should apparently have no aftermath, then you should see this film and see what has happened."
-Roger Ebert
Tip of the Week! "An essential portrait of a pivotal moment in this city's--and this country's--history"
-New City Chicago
A gritty but essential documentary charting social turbulence in late 1960's Chicago.
American Revolution 2 includes footage of the 1968 Democratic Convention protest and riot, a critique of the events by working class African-Americans in Chicago, and attempts by the Black Panther Party to organize poor, southern white youths on the city's north side. Using direct sound, a handheld camera, no script, black-and-white film stock, and natural lighting, the directors' no-frills approach appropriately reflects the raw energy of this upheaval.
Directed by Mike Gray and Howard Alk, U.S.A., 1969, DVD, 76 mins.
