Set in Chicago in 1967, at the height of the Vietnam War, this disarming, intimate work finds two nuns moving through the city's densely populated streets, asking the question: "Are you happy?" The film pushes beyond the issues of the times and allows its subjects to open their hearts and reveal themselves plainly and simply. Features music by Philip Glass.
Directed by Gordon Quinn/Gerald Temaner, U.S.A., 1968, DVD, 66 mins.
The filmmakers Gordon Quinn and Jerry Temaner will be in attendance, along with Kathleen Westling - former Sister Arne!
