Screen Gems Gala

Our major fundraising event of the year, the Screen Gems Gala will take place on October 20, 2010. This annual event will be held at the Arts Club of Chicago and will feature a seated dinner, award presentations, entertainment and auctions.

The Screen Gems Gala plays a critical role in the year-round support of Facets’ extraordinary film programs for children and adults. The oldest and largest festival of films for children in North America, the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival presents year-round media education programs for children, teachers and parents. Each year, 30,000 Chicago-area children, 10,000 of them on scholarship, attend Facets' Chicago International Children's Film Festival, the only Academy-qualifying children's film festival in the world. Home to the world’s greatest library and archive of classic, independent, art and children's films and a stellar schedule of unique year-round festivals, film screenings, classes and director seminars, Facets is - and has been for 34 years - a leading force for vibrant, independent cinema. Chicago International Children's Film Festival Opening

The opening night of the Chicago International Children's Film Festival is the highlight of the year for families. Over 600 kids and parents enjoy a kid-friendly food-reception, special celebrities, entertainment, and a special selection of American or world premieres of films from the Chicago International Children's Film Festival.
