A Low-Level Flight
A Low-Level Flight follows the relationship between an ace fighter pilot in the Czech army and his wife-one filled with deception, intrigue and tragedy -- through their daughter's own words.
Franta was an attractive, ambitious man with a purposeful and determined personality. His wife, Kát'a, was captivated by him. He was a man of secrets, though. As a pilot for the Czech Army, Franta was absent from home and Kát'a often, traveling to the USSR throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Unbeknownst to his wife, Franta lived a double life with another family. He was also enveloped in a severe alcohol addiction.
The eventual revelations of Franta's infidelities and drinking devastated Kát'a, alienating them and ultimately ruining the marriage. The situation was made all the more tragic when Franta suffered an unfortunate early death tied to his clandestine life.
