You are invited to the
NIGHT AT THE FACTORY GALA

Facets' Night at the Factory Gala will feature dinner, entertainment (nothing short of a Velvet Underground cover band complete with go-go dancers and a Nico look-alike!), and silent and live auctions, with items ranging from film festival packages in Santa Barbara and Palm Springs to Warhol-inspired gifts and events at Facets. The evening will also host diversions such as a “Get Glued” station for false eyelashes (to recreate that 1960s superstar look), as well as a station which will generate your portrait in the style of Warhol’s famous silkscreens, to help you achieve your 15 minutes of fame, and an art installation by Kasia Kay Art Projects (link to www.kasiakayartprojects.com) featuring selected work by celebrity artists from Warhol’s Factory.

Home to the world’s greatest library and archive of classic, independent, documentary and art films and a stellar schedule of unique year-round festivals - including the Academy-qualifying Chicago International Children’s Film Festival, film screenings, classes and director seminars, Facets is - and has been for 32 years - a leading force for vibrant, independent cinema.

All due to the generosity of people like you and the funds raised at the Night at the Factory Gala.

Warhol Time Capsules:

"What you should do is get a box for a month, and drop everything in it and at the end of the month lock it up. Then date it and send it over to Jersey. You should try to keep track of it, but if you can’t and you lose it, that’s fine because it’s one less thing to think about, another load off your mind. I started off myself with trunks and the odd piece of furniture, but then I went around shopping for something better and now I just drop everything into the same-size brown cardboard boxes."

Warhol and the Film Factory

The enormous impact Andy Warhol’s art made on culture has been widely recognized through countless museum exhibitions, publications and films. But much less known is the seminal contribution of Warhol and his collaborators to film. Starting on Friday, November 16, dozens of Warhol collaborators and scholars will join us for a weeklong festival at Facets to re-appraise the Warhol Factory’s impact on the moving image.
